Dorset Action on Abuse is a registered charity. We rely entirely on donations to sustain our service. We receive NO funding or financial support from the NHS. All our counsellors and facilitators are volunteers, are trained counsellors and members of professional counselling and psychotherapy bodies. All receive clinical supervision from experienced, volunteer clinical supervisors. We have recently reached the end of a five year, National Lottery grant. DAA is now in a financial position where we need to make changes to how we offer our services, in order to ensure the seamless continuation of our work.
We are continuing to offer our counselling and facilitated support groups as usual. In the near future DAA will be introducing means testing for all new clients. This change is so we can ensure that our available funds support clients who genuinely cannot afford to contribute much for receiving our help.

DAA Photography Group
DAA has recently set up a photography group which is open to service users and volunteers. The group will meet up at Seaforth House when possible to discuss their work and offer advice and encouragement. We are interested in displaying some of the photos taken by the members of the group at Seaforth House for our service users and volunteers to enjoy. If you are interested in joining our photography group then please contact the DAA office:
